Marvel and Disney sitting in a tree
August 31st, 2009 | by thassodar |Apparently tired of someone else owning more recognizable characters than them, Disney has decided to purchase Marvel Comics for $30 a share, plus three quarters of a share of Disney stock for each share they own. This amounts to well… how does $4 billion sound? Both Disney and Marvel approved the transaction, but it has yet to clear the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 which pretty much says the government has to do a check-up on them before giving the green light on the purchase. Currently Activision and SEGA have games based on the Marvel universe in the works, along with a lot of Marvel movies coming out in the future. Here’s praying that everything Marvel doesn’t turn cutesy and computer generated.
