Silly Chinese Hacker…

According to a news post on Yahoo! News a presumably chinese hacker has used an automated hacking bot to search google and insert some javascript code using a sql statement in upto 20,000 websites including the internet security firm Trend Micro. While this is shocking news indeed the most surprising news is what the hacker was trying to do.

Among the malicious programs served up was a password-stealing program for the game “Lord of the Rings Online,” security vendor McAfee said last month.

Silly Chinese hacker… Don’t you know that World of Warcraft has more than 10,000,000 subscribers? If you are trying to steal passwords to steal and sell accounts LOTRO might not be your best option. here look at this Chart from MMOGChart.com
