The 23 Quadrillion Dollar Glitch
July 15th, 2009 | by supperman |Across the nation people are reporting a massive error when using Visa check cards for purchases. In new Hampshire the charge was for a pack of smokes and in North Texas the charge was for a nice dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s “Five Sixty” restaurant.
Visa is trying to shrug off the error. In New Hampshire they referred the press and consumers to Bank of America. In Dallas, TX it was a Wachovia account in question and Visa claimed a ‘temporary glitch’ was responsible. In both events the amount was the same. $23,148,855,308,184,500 or 23 quadrillion,148 trillion, 855 billion, 308 million, 184,000, 500 dollars. That’s more than 2,000 times the national debt.
